Job Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
* Support mobility, using appropriate equipment or techniques to promote safe movement
* Provide assistance during mealtimes, including preparing and serving food or helping residents to eat
* Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes in physical or emotional health to senior staff
* Maintain accurate records of care provided using our documentation systems
* Provide companionship and emotional support, helping residents feel valued and engaged
* Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment by performing light housekeeping duties
* Adhere to all health, safety, and infection control policies and procedures
Essential Qualities & Skills
* Compassionate, empathetic, and patient with a strong sense of respect for the elderly
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to delivering high-quality care
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in a care environment is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
* A good understanding of safeguarding, manual handling, and infection control practices is beneficial
