Your new company I am recruiting for a very well-known and prestigious university based in London. Your new role My client is looking for an experienced Windows Server Engineer to help with a large-scale upgrade piece of work, which will entail moving from their Windows Server 2016 estate to Windows Server 2022. You'll carry out decommissioning of legacy infrastructure once migrations are completed and other decommissioning work as required, support future server upgrade activities (e.g., Windows Server 2019) and plan and carry out Active Directory domain upgrades in alignment with the wider IDM programme. What you'll need to succeed Demonstrable experience upgrading Windows Server environments, particularly to Windows Server 2022. Strong knowledge of Active Directory domain upgrades and associated dependencies. Proven track record of delivering server migrations and structured decommissioning activities in enterprise environments. Good understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including OneDrive and MS Teams. Hands-on experience with VMware administration and virtualised infrastructure. Proficient PowerShell scripting skills for automation and configuration tasks. Experience working with DFS, including file system restructuring, migration, and rationalisation. Ability to work independently across multiple teams and manage discrete deliverables. Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
