•Structure, negotiate and draft strategic commercial agreements including customer, supplier and distributor contracts
•Provide clear direction and strategic know-how to our European leadership team on commercial matters
•Manage disputes and litigation to achieve a practical and cost-effective result.
•Advise on legal risk and ethical compliance in Europe including anti-corruption laws, EUDR and Code of Conduct
•Oversee Mergers and Acquisitions
•Monitor legal changes within the industry and implement any necessary changes, or challenge any prospective changes that may impact the organisation's operations.
•Providing support to internal and external audit
•Oversee the hiring of internal legal staff. Leading the team by example.
Requirements
•You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 8 years PQE, some of which will be have been in a General Counsel or Deputy GC role
•You will have excelled academically when achieving your law qualifications
•Demonstrated experience in European corporate and commercial law
•1st class English is essential, additional language skills are also desirable
•Ideally, you will be experienced in the manufacturing sector
•Operating from a local manufacturing site you will need to be prepared for significant travel
