On behalf of our client, a leading, West Midland based, tier 1 automotive supplier, we are currently looking to recruit a CMM Technician/Metrology Technician to support day to day activities in order to achieve highest quality and right first time.
As Metrology Technician, you will be required to work across a 3 shift system, 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, and 22:00 – 06:00hrs and will be responsible for:
* Performing measurements of first off/last off parts using CMM Machines and portable scanning arm.
* Performing measurements using traditional hand held equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, etc… and present results to Lead Quality or Quality Manager
* Perform capability studies along with Gauge R&R Studies to ensure repeatability in the production process.
* Analyse data using statistical techniques (SPC) and complete inspection reports on all measured components
* Assistance in the control and maintenance of CMM programs in line with customer requirements.
The successful candidate will be able to:
* Demonstrate previous experience in using LK Camio or PCDMIS software to operate CMM.
* Write/modify CMM programs using LK Camio software.
* Able to review critical data and generate informative reports in line with SPC
* Demonstrate high level problem-solving techniques, particularly versed with 8D
