We are looking for a Senior Catering Assistant to join our team at St Peters Hospital, Newport.
To carry out the planning, ordering, preparation, cooking and distribution of meals within St Peters Hospital. To ensure personal awareness of Health and Safety guidelines in order to effectively ensure that tasks are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring your own and others safety at all times.
Responsibilities:
5. Preparation, cooking and presentation of food.
6. Preparing refreshments when required.
7. Food ordering and storage.
8. Preparation of sandwiches, salads and dietary supplements when required.
9. Prepare all food items within agreed cooking methods and portion controls.
10. Implement and maintain the company food standards contained within the Group Catering Manual, and work with the Group Catering Manager to improve where possible.
11. Complete all food safety documentation sheets for efficiency and accuracy i.e. temperature of food, and label perishable foods accordingly.
12. Ensure the food safety of service users with particular and special dietary requirements.
13. Work within the allocated food budget costs, and carry out stock taking procedures on a monthly basis.
14. Assist in the production and service of special functions, as required
15. To observe and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, confidentiality, courtesy and consideration to all clients, colleagues and visitors to the Units
16. Undertake such other work as may be requested by the Group Catering Manager up to a level consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the role, which may include working at other sites when required.
