Specifications Manager

Overview:
Take the responsibility for products & solutions in project specifications by working closely with architects, designers, consultants, and key decision-makers.
Key areas of responsibility:
Specification & Project Influence
•Secure specifications for company products on target projects from concept through to construction
•Identify, track, and manage project pipelines from early design stages to completion
•Provide technical guidance to specifiers, consultants, and design teams
•Ensure products are correctly specified in line with project requirements, standards, and regulations
Relationship Management
•Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants
•Act as the technical point of contact
•Collaborate closely with UK sales team
•Support key accounts and strategic partners
Technical Support & Compliance
•Deliver product presentations, CPDs, and technical workshops
•Stay up to date with building regulations, standards, and industry best practice
•Support value engineering and alternative product proposals where required
Project Tracking & Reporting
•Maintain accurate project and specification data in CRM systems
•Monitor specification conversion rates from design to order
•Produce monthly reports on pipeline activity, specification wins, and risks
•Support forecasting and business planning activities
Market & Product Insight
•Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
•Identify opportunities for innovation and specification improvement
To be considered for this role you MUST:
•Possess strong technical and commercial acumen
•Have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
•Be a strong relationship-builder and possess stakeholder management capability
•Be able to manage project pipelines
•Be proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
•Have proven experience in a specification, technical sales, and sales role
•Have a strong understanding of the construction/design process and project lifecycle
•Possess knowledge of relevant building standards and regulations are advantageous
•Have professional accreditation or CPD-related qualifications
