Consultant Psychiatrist, CYPS, Chertsey (attracts £25K RRP)
We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work within our Surrey Heath Children and Young Persons Service based at Unither House, Chertsey covering the NW patch of Surrey. The Postholder will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to our Children and Young Peoples Service clinics. The successful candidate will work with two other consultants, 2 SAS doctors and Trainees in a multidisciplinary team setting. This is a good opportunity for a newly appointed consultant, with support, mentorship and opportunities for development.
Responsibilities
* Provide a diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multidisciplinary approach to care, promoting high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships.
* Lead clinical input for CHYPS clinics; work within a MDT with two other consultants, 2 SAS doctors and Trainees.
* Participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota, providing back-up for junior doctors and professionals in assessing young people seen in A&E.
* Average workload: full-time consultants do 2-3 monthly assessments with caseload around 60; patients have a consultant review after 6 weeks of treatment, then every 2-3 months.

Requirements / Qualifications
* GMC registration (and eligibility to work in the UK).
* Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry and leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to work in a flexible arrangement; part-time applicants considered.

* NHS Consultant grade salary (£109,725 - £145,478 per annum) plus on-call and fringe benefits.
