About The Role Chorleywood Manor Care Home, located in Chorleywood are recruiting for an energetic and friendly Activities Driver to join the team and report directly to the Activities Organiser. You will be responsible for providing safe, timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from various activities while providing quality service with a friendly manner. Essential Key Duties:
Driving
1. Provides transportation services for residents
2. Assists residents with any special needs during transportation; such as the following but not limited to, carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents onto and out of vehicle and to the point of destination required
3. Maintains focus on driving at all times; directs tasks and passenger interactions to on-board support staff while vehicle is in motion. No personal mobile phone use allowed at any time
4. Demonstrates positive resident relations at all times
5. Demonstrates safety, loss prevention and infection control procedures
6. Solid knowledge of local area including traffic patterns in order to closely estimate travel times and plans appropriate routes to destinations. Resident safety should be observed and considered at all times
7. Reports residents’ change of health, physical or mental, to Assisted Living Coordinator and or Reminiscence Coordinator

8. Forms part of the activities team, and when not driving should participate in activities program
9. Responds in a timely manner to requests and concerns from residents, family members and team members
10. Maintains and protects the confidentiality of residents information at all times
11. Notifies the Assisted Living Coordinator and or Reminiscence Coordinator of any resident concerns
12. Documents and checks the Maintenance Logs and Daily Log for any needs and or requests
13. Trains Averys Senior Living team members on driver assistance procedures (Spotting) and safety as needed
14. Adheres to Highway Code regulations and Averys Senior Living policies
15. Ensures that the risk assessment for the safe operation of Community vehicles is dynamic and current
16. Assists AVC with research and planning of outing, and provides required information so monthly activities calendar can be produced

About You To be successful in this role, it is essential you are at least 21 years old and have a PCV license with a Cat D1. You will pride yourself on your ability to remain calm in emergency situations and provide support and reassurance to both your residents and team members. You will love building and forming relationships with your residents, providing them with a safe environment and making responsible choices and decisions acting in their best interest.
