We're looking for a motivated Planner to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of sectors and locations, supporting both new and existing client projects. You'll play a key role in maintaining strong client relationships, contributing to a variety of projects, and supporting colleagues on larger, more complex schemes.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll start by managing smaller-scale planning applications, with full support and on-the-job mentoring. As you grow in the role, there will be clear opportunities for promotion to Senior Planner and involvement in business development.
Typical tasks include:
1. Preparing planning appraisals and applications
2. Contributing to strategic planning and local plan promotion
3. Engaging in community consultations and negotiations
4. Supporting project management and delivering client presentations
5. Assisting with planning appeals
Growth & Development Opportunities:
6. Supported route to RTPI accreditation (if not already achieved)
7. Ongoing professional development across all areas of the planning system

What We're Looking For
Essential Skills:
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing
13. Ability to manage time and prioritise effectively
14. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
15. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
16. Enthusiastic, resourceful, and self-motivated
17. Able to work both independently and collaboratively
18. A professional, friendly approach with strong relationship-building skills
19. Full clean UK driving licence
Desirable Skills:
20. 1-2 years' experience (for Senior Planner applicants) in the public or private sector
21. Familiarity with urban design and masterplanning is a bonus
22. An existing client network or ability to bring in new business would be advantageous
