My client, a leading systematic hedge fund, is looking to appoint a senior cloud engineer (AWS) to join its core infrastructure team in London.
This hire forms part of a planned build‑out of their cloud platform. You will take a leading role in shaping and scaling their AWS environment, supporting the firm’s quantitative research environment, data ingestion pipelines and cloud‑based post‑trade workflows.
You will have the opportunity to take significant ownership of ambitious projects and to act as a senior voice on cloud architecture and best practice, developing a robust, scalable cloud infrastructure that underpins multiple business lines. The team is small and the hierarchy is flat, so you will have visibility with senior stakeholders and be able to make a strong impact early on.
Requirements
* 5+ years’ experience in a Cloud / Platform / SRE-type role with strong, hands‑on AWS exposure
* Deep experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS) in production environments
* Solid Terraform skills and a genuine infrastructure‑as‑code mindset
* Familiarity with CNCF tooling such as Argo CD, Kyverno, Prometheus / Grafana, Backstage or similar
* Comfort programming or scripting in languages such as Go and/or Python
* Understanding of Kubernetes operators and how they are used in modern platforms
* Experience automating build and deployment processes using GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tools
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with stakeholders (e.g. quants, engineers, technology leadership)
* Willingness to be based on‑site in London 5 days per week
