Offer description

An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join our inpatient team at Franklyn Hospital, Exeter, as a Healthcare Assistant. Rougemont Ward is a 16-bedded inpatient assessment unit for Older People with functional illnesses.

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a motivated individual who is passionate about caring for older people with functional illnesses. The job offers a challenging yet rewarding environment with opportunities to learn and develop. Rougemont Ward provides high-quality care and treatment for people with complex health needs and functional illnesses. We conduct multidisciplinary assessments to inform current and future care needs.

What We Are Looking For

We seek individuals who share our trust values in delivering high-quality care, enjoy working as part of a proactive multidisciplinary team, and want to make a difference in people's lives every day.

Benefits and Opportunities

We offer entry into our apprenticeship programme, which provides a pathway to build a career within one of the UK’s most progressive trusts, potentially leading to a recognized nursing qualification in the future. Our inpatient services operate on a 24/7 shift basis. Applications are welcome for both full-time and part-time hours. You will qualify for unsocial hour enhancements in addition to basic pay, even during training.

Main Duties

* Assist multidisciplinary team members in delivering holistic care addressing social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs.
* Undertake practical procedures under supervision of trained nursing staff.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous care experience is desirable but not essential. We value diverse backgrounds and believe that individuals from different employment histories can bring new ideas and knowledge. We are willing to support candidates in achieving the Care Certificate if they do not already possess it. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Sponsorship and Additional Information

If you require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK, please review the "Coming to work in the UK Visa Information" link in the supporting links section. For further advice on sponsorship eligibility, contact dpt.recruitment@nhs.net.
