Cover Supervisor

We’re looking for someone who can keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are absent, support students in and out of the classroom, and play an important part in the daily life of a busy secondary school.
What you’ll be doing
In this role you’ll help students stay on track, uphold school expectations and create a positive learning environment. Day-to-day, you’ll:
1. Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence
2. Communicate the work set and keep students engaged
3. Manage behaviour using the school’s policies and expectations
4. Register and record attendance
5. Ensure resources for lessons are prepared and used appropriately
6. Support students who need extra help and seek guidance where necessary
7. Return completed work to teachers and pass on relevant feedback
8. Help with school visits, trips and activities when required
9. Assist with break, before-school and after-school supervision
10. Provide general admin support like photocopying and organising work packs
11. Invigilate internal and external exams
12. Maintain high standards of safeguarding, inclusion and confidentiality

What you’ll bring
19. Reliability, resilience and a genuine interest in supporting young people
20. Experience working with students or within a school is helpful, but not essential
21. A willingness to learn, adapt and take feedback
22. A strong awareness of safeguarding and professional boundaries

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
