Controls & Systems Technician / BMS Technician (Excellent Training)
Location: Loughborough – Site Based
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Full Training + Clear Progression + Enhanced Pension + 44 Days Holiday + Outstanding Benefits
Overview
Are you an electrically biased engineer with experience across Building Management Systems, looking for a role where you can genuinely become a technical specialist rather than just another maintenance technician? The Role
* Own planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault finding across campus BMS systems
* Diagnose and repair faults across HVAC, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
* Work hands‑on with TREND and Niagara 4 systems to monitor and optimise performance
* Respond to live alarms and system data, prioritising critical issues in real time
* Support and supervise external contractors when required
* Maintain accurate system data, backups, and asset information
The Person
* Electrically biased engineer or technician with experience in Building Management Systems (BMS)
* Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building services controls
* Experience with TREND, Niagara 4 or similar BMS platforms
* Confident fault‑finder using schematics, data and logical diagnosis
* Comfortable working in live, occupied environments
* Basic understanding of networking (Ethernet/IP advantageous)
* Strong communicator who can work with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders
* A genuine interest in developing into more advanced controls / systems engineering
* Qualified in Electrical / Building Services (HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent desirable)
