About the Role
BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for heritage consultants to join our expanding team with significant plans for growth within an ambitious business. The team's success has been built on helping clients deliver sustainable and implementable schemes on complex sites across multiple sectors. The Heritage Team is based in Leeds but has a national remit which seeks to expand amid continuous growth.
As part of the CAF Group, BWB delivers large projects with environmental requirements throughout the UK, from tender and award of contracts, to the completion of construction. BWB’s involvement in these projects ranges from early feasibility, pre-planning surveys and assessments to developing and implementing mitigation to support the discharge of planning conditions.
Responsibilities
* Providing archaeological/heritage services during all aspects of the project cycle
* Contributing to fee proposals and tenders opportunities
* Contributing to a range of heritage or archaeological projects with senior oversight
* Contributing to a range of written assessments and specifications
* Providing consultancy advice to internal and external clients and stakeholders
* Dealing directly with sub-contractors, clients and stakeholders with support from Senior colleagues
* Helping to develop fieldwork and mitigation strategies and monitoring the implementation of sub-contractor outputs through site visits
* Contributing to multiple projects at various stages of completion with concurrent deadlines and competing demands
* Communicating effectively and working collaboratively as part of a team within the wider BWB business
* Delivering a high-quality service to Clients, with a focus on cost-effective and innovative solutions
About The Individual
As a Heritage Consultant within a rapidly growing discipline of the business, you will be in a position, and actively encouraged, to influence the development and direction of a quality focussed service. Experienced field archaeologists or heritage professionals with relevant transferable skills who are looking to explore a career in consultancy will also be considered. BWB will develop you as a consultant and you will have the opportunity to grow your expertise and specialism. We value professional accreditation and members of CIfA and/or IHBC or those willing to work towards accreditation would be welcome.
About The Team
You will be joining a dynamic, fast paced heritage team who have a broad range of specialisms. The heritage team is seeking to expand and career progression within BWB is achievable. The team has a relaxed, supportive, and friendly outlook and forms part of BWB’s wider multi-disciplinary Advisory service for environment led consultancy. We operate hybrid working for the right applicants mixed with office attendance to build relationships within the team and office.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must be a driven individual with experience in contributing to the successful completion of heritage led projects. You will be well organised and able to prioritise your own workload with support from senior colleagues. You should be an excellent communicator who can work dynamically across different teams and offices. Although not a prerequisite for the role, we would be interested in hearing from you if you have a relevant heritage specialism, such as the built historic environment, geoarchaeological experience or community focused archaeology.
Key Requirements
* Degree qualification in a heritage or archaeological related subject
* Excellent verbal, written and communication skills, with a strong focus on client care
* Have contributed to the production of a variety of heritage reports and assessments, specifications and written schemes of investigations
* You will have a good overall level of knowledge of British heritage or have an archaeological background
* Experience in using GIS or QGIS
* Willingness to travel and a full driving license are essential
