Element is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background as a security engineer, responsible for safeguarding complex global environments and designing scalable security solutions across application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, with a focus on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing security solutions and tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Contribute to planning and managing the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Collaborate on the deployment, management, and upgrading of cybersecurity infrastructure.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities.
5. Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules to filter security events.
6. Support the transition of projects into operational services.
7. Develop new security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Maintain design documentation and procedures.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshooting.
10. Develop standard operating procedures and protocols.
11. Work closely with the Cyber Defence team to enforce security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts.
13. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude, advocating "Security as an enabler" for business growth.
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability across business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and provide input on designs, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical findings to non-technical audiences.
* Up-to-date knowledge of security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in complex, multi-site environments, including multinational connectivity.
* Familiarity with security technologies such as NDR, content filtering, FW, IPS/IDS, DDoS mitigation, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, and SOAR.
* Experience in cyber defense operations and as a Cyber Security Engineer; previous roles in Network or Server Engineering are advantageous.
* International and multicultural work experience.
* Proactive communication skills and ability to engage with staff at all levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, federated organizations and in infrastructure/support development.
