Opportunity Overview
The role of 0.4FTE Senior Technician in Biomedical Science is key to ensuring that students within the School of Science, Engineering and Environment (SSEE) can receive the best student experience possible in the biomedical sciences degree programmes. The post-holder will facilitate the effective delivery of teaching and practical sessions, maintain specialist equipment and project resources, and supervise, train and support project and T‑level students. The role also involves active involvement in teaching sessions that use human or animal blood, blood products and deceased animal specimens, handling these materials safely and in accordance with biosafety and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider technical team to maintain laboratory facilities to a high standard of safety, organisation, efficiency and sustainability.

* Safety and incident management – Directs and participates in specialist health and safety assessments, ensures compliance, investigates incidents and facilitates resolution.
