NURTURING SEN TEACHER (DURHAM) Do you want to teach in a classroom where every small step forward is celebrated and emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything you do? We are looking for a nurturing and dedicated teacher to join a specialist SEN primary setting in Durham. This position is suitable for mainstream teachers who are interested in transitioning into SEN and developing specialist teaching skills. You will work with pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication difficulties, autism, and social and emotional challenges. Pupils may display challenging behaviour as a form of communication, and your role will be to provide calm, consistent, and compassionate support. Your role will include: Planning personalised learning programmes for small groups Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behavioural needs Creating a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment Collaborating with support staff, families, and external professionals Using therapeutic approaches to support engagement and learning We are looking for someone patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
