Based in Hackney, Hair & Care is a ground breaking non-profit supporting and advocating for improved inclusion and accessibility for the sight loss community.
Our mission is to make the hair, beauty and fashion industries more accessible and inclusive - on the ground we offer free community based hair workshops and on a wider level, we work across international Fashion Weeks to provide accessible experiences for blind and low vision audiences.
Junior Social Media & Content Creator (Fashion / Charity Sectors)
We are looking for
an enthusiastic, motivated and confident
Junior Social Media and Content Creator
to join our team, to work and
manage our social media output, during an exciting period of company growth.
You will develop Hair & Care's social strategy, and design and create engaging content across multiple channels to help build awareness and build reach.
This role is suitable for candidates who want the chance to work in a fast paced and exciting environment with great opportunities to open you up to the world of beauty and fashion while working for a good cause.
The role:
* Freelance, full time (5 days a week)
* London based (4 days required at our Hackney studio)
* Start date: Immediate start
Key responsibilities include
* Content creation:
* Plan, Create and schedule high quality and engaging stills, video and written content for Instagram and Tiktok, across various projects, campaigns and events
* Produce, shoot and edit strategic and on-brand short form video content (ie reels) Capture live content both in studio and on location
* Strategy development:
* Develop and execute a content strategy to drive engagement and reach, and optimise performance
* Align content with Hair & Care's brand identity - values, mission and tone of voice - ensuring consistency in style and storytelling
* Communicate with team to align content with wider marketing and fundraising goals and strategy
* Use social media analytics to monitor performance and refine strategy
* Develop and maintain detailed plans and trackers using Google sheets
* Research, trends & creative input:
* Research and identify trends on leading social media platforms within fashion, beauty and charity sectors - including but not limited to: formats, transitions, sounds
* Stay up to date with platform features and algorithm changes
* Develop and pitch unique content concepts in addition to active participation in team wide brainstorms
* Build engagement & Network:
* Engage with our community online to boost engagement (commenting on and liking posts, respond to messages promptly)
* Research and build out network to initiate and grow relationships
* Connect with leading voices in the VI and accessibility community
* Project support and delivery:
* Support the team and deliver. where required, on special projects and events, including fundraisers, Fashion Week shows, webinars, workshops.
Requirements:
* Previous experience creating short form video content in a professional environment
* Strong understanding of social media, trends, and a passion for digital storytelling
* Strong videography and editing skills for social media
* Ideas driven with attention to detail and a creative eye
* Excellent written/ verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and to prioritise tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Proficiency in using tools such as Canva, Capcut, Preview, Trello, Photoshop, Google Workspace
* Have an understanding of fashion and key fashion publications / channels
* Team player - you are enthusiastic and adaptable
* Passionate about making a difference
* Bachelors degree preferred, but not essential
