Job Overview
The main objective of the HVAC Site Engineer is to ensure the efficient progress of HVAC systems installation activities on the HK8010 contract (MEH JV), acting as the interface between the end‑to‑end (E2E) HVAC Engineering team, the site installation contractor, and the engineering entity in charge of site requests. This role enables the transfer of knowledge from E2E Design & Manufacture teams to the on‑site contractor and ensures timely production and resolution of RFIs, FCRs, and NCRs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide an HVAC interface between E2E Engineering, site area/building leads, and assist with the front‑end installation activities to ensure transition to site delivery, installation and eventual testing and commissioning in line with drawings and specifications.
* Enable sharing of knowledge and expertise of Design & Manufacture teams in E2E Engineering with the on‑site contractor (MEH JV).
* Review the content of FCRs (Field Change Requests) and NCRs (site Non‑Conformance) issued by the construction team across the following aspects:
o Characterisation – ensure the description is clear and contains sufficient information (root cause, scope impacted, issue details) for assessment.
o Remediation – review the optioneering and confirm the proposed remediation plan is relevant and achievable, selecting a preferred option and confirming its suitability for the project.
o Delegation – propose the appropriate level of delegation for treatment of the FCR/NCR.
* Maintain regular contact with the construction team to review FCR/NCR trends (frequency, type of issues) and offer proactive mitigations for potential problems, drawing on wider E2E Engineering experience.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* Proven experience in nuclear HVAC systems or components within multidisciplinary projects.
* Meticulous and rigorous engineering approach to achieve high professional standards.
* Track record of delivering engineering safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality in fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environments.
* Strong people‑leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery, empower team members, and collaborate with stakeholders.
* Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders and work autonomously while recognising personal limitations.
