General Foreman – Substation Civils (Energy Sector)
30‑Week Contract | Accommodation Provided
We’re supporting a major civils contractor with the appointment of an experienced General Foreman for a new substation project in the southwest of Scotland. This is a 30‑week programme overseeing the civils package, with accommodation provided for candidates who can’t reasonably commute.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supervising day‑to‑day civils operations on a live substation site, including:
Supervise day‑to‑day civils works including - installing ducts, excavated foundations, drainage, kerbing, roads and doing SPEN paperwork
Coordinate labour, plant and subcontractors to keep works on programme
Ensure all activities meet safety standards and client (SPEN) specifications
Manage site paperwork, permits and inspections in line with substation requirements
Working hours are typically 07:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
What You’ll Need
CSCS
SMSTS
First Aid
Experience in civils, utilities, substations or energy‑sector infrastructure
Strong leadership and communication skills
