About the Role
InPost Distribution is recruiting a Nights Warehouse Operations Manager in Bristol. The role focuses on maximizing the performance of our Lockers operations and requires a high-performing individual to lead, motivate, and develop the workforce. Candidates from a parcel sortation operation management background are essential.
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day depot activities, manage the shift team, and run a mechanical sortation system, reporting to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, support, and develop a high-performing operational team, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
2. Ensure operational performance exceeds customer expectations by meeting contract KPIs.
3. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to improve service quality.
4. Ensure compliance with operational standards, including Health & Safety regulations.
5. Work closely with the Regional and General Managers to meet operational targets.
6. Conduct team performance reviews and plan ongoing training initiatives.
7. Optimize driver and vehicle resource deployment for efficiency.
8. Analyze operational and financial data to identify improvement opportunities and cost savings.
9. Oversee site housekeeping and maintenance for a safe working environment.
10. Occasional travel across the UK to support operations and customer relationships.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience managing mechanical parcel sortation and process operations.
* Strong background in continuous improvement methodologies.
* Knowledge of Drivers Hours regulations, Tachograph requirements, and WTD legislation.
* Understanding of Health & Safety standards in operational environments.
* Leadership skills to motivate and develop teams.
* Experience in budget management and KPI analysis.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with TMS and WMS systems.
* High accuracy and numeracy skills.
