Location of post: Neath Library, Water Street, Neath SA11 3EP
About the role:
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic person to join our library team as a Library Assistant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to deliver a wide range of library and information services, promoting the library, and engaging with the community.
As a Library Assistant, the main duties of the post will include :-
- Assisting with events and activities at the library
- Assisting in the day to day running of a Library
- Promoting digital skills and providing support for users
- Providing community information, including health and wellbeing
- Working with the library team to promote reading and literacy
- Assisting in the day to day running of a Library
Do you have experience of:-
1. Working with the public, preferably in a library or customer service environment
2. Working as part of a team
3. Knowledge of IT systems including a Library Management System
Ideally you will have:-
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills
5. The ability to successfully undertake routine tasks
6. A good knowledge of ICT and the ability to support library users
7. A minimum of 4 GCSE’s (Grage A-C) or equivalent, one of which should be English Language
8. A positive approach to organising, running, and supporting activities and events in the library to support the wider community.
As part of the team, you will be required to work Saturday’s for which an enhanced rate of pay will be made.
The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in hours of work and location.
