Pay rate – £28.42 per hour Contract – Temporary Durham County Council are currently recruiting an experienced children’s Social Worker for their Next Steps team. The Next Steps Team is a newly established team that works with 16- and 17-year-olds. They Pathway Plan alongside young people and set aspirational goals with them. This is a supportive team that benefits from working closely with the care leavers service and the children in care service. There is strong wrap around services used by the team, such as Staying Close, Peer Mentoring and an emotional wellbeing worker. The social worker will be required to manage a case load of young people aged 16 and 17, work alongside the young person to Pathway Plan and support their transition to being a care leaver. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
