At Ormiston Horizon Academy, we are seeking a passionate and professional Teacher of Science to join our growing team. Teachers will collaborate with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of the Academy's aspirations and aims.
All staff, including teachers, are responsible for promoting the ethos and culture of the Academy. They will undertake organisational and supervisory duties, including taking registers, handling routine administrative functions, and managing student behaviour to ensure smooth daily operations.
Teachers will also undertake Personal Tutor responsibilities, with training and support provided. The Personal Tutor manages the pastoral and academic welfare of their tutor group and serves as the primary contact for students, parents/carers, and subject staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (ECTs welcome)
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4
* Understanding of safeguarding of children and young people
* Genuine commitment to young person participation
