Senior Social Media Manager – Birmingham / Hybrid - £35,000 - £40,000
A well-established and growing marketing agency is seeking an experienced Senior Social Media Manager to lead and scale it’s social media offering.
This role is ideal for someone who really understands how social works, from organic and paid activity through to influencer and creator partnerships, and knows how to use it to drive real growth for brands.
As Senior Social Media Manager, you will lead the agency’s social output end to end.
You will shape strategy, oversee delivery and performance across a varied client portfolio, and act as the senior social lead for key accounts.
This includes leading strategic conversations, turning results into clear insight, and ensuring the work is consistently high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and evolve the agency’s social media strategy across organic, paid, and influencer marketing
2. Position social as a strategic growth channel aligned to client objectives and wider marketing strategies
3. Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, owning strategy, performance, and innovation discussions
4. Oversee campaign performance across platforms, ensuring strong ROI and continual optimisation
5. Own reporting frameworks and ensure insights are clear, actionable, and commercially relevant
6. Lead, manage, and develop the social media team, setting clear expectations and standards
7. Mentor team members and support skills development, progression, and performance
8. Ensure effective workload planning, resourcing, and prioritisation across the team
9. Champion social-first thinking across integrated campaigns and internal collaboration
10. Provide senior oversight of paid social activity and influencer/creator partnerships
11. Stay ahead of platform updates, trends, and emerging formats, driving innovation in client work
12. Support new business pitches and identify opportunities to grow existing client accounts
13. Contribute to agency growth, profitability, and the future direction of the social function
What We’re Looking For:
14. Proven experience leading a social media or digital team within an agency environment
15. Deep, hands-on knowledge of platforms including Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
16. Strong understanding of paid social, influencer marketing, and social analytics
17. Strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to link social performance to business outcomes
18. Confident communicator with strong client-facing and presentation skills
19. A creative eye paired with a data-led, performance-focused approach
20. Passion for social culture, trends, and innovation
