Overview
The Ophthalmology Service is looking for an engaging and motivated nurse to take the role of Junior Sister in the Tysul Eye Unit at Glangwili Hospital. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of the specialty, and experience running an area/department. The Tysul Eye Unit comprises ophthalmology dedicated pre-operative assessment clinics, eye emergency clinics and admission/discharge of patients for theatre. The team also supports the delivery of intravitreal injections at Amman Valley Hospital, therefore travelling is an essential aspect of this role. We strongly recommend visits and contact prior to interview. We would welcome applicants looking for either a part-time or full-time position, as this can be negotiated. The postholder will be required to combine excellent clinical practice with day to day shift coordination and undertaking leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister. Continually support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister, including deputising/taking charge of the clinical area/team in the absence of the Senior Sister. Provide supervisory management and leadership skills in a clinical environment which is complex and pressurised.
