We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager at our site in Cam production facility between Gloucester and Bristol. This is a strategically important site which cleans and processes a natural acacia gum used in wide variety food applications. This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Manager/Supervisor with strong organization skills to develop a small engineering team whilst also leading CAPEX engineering and automation related projects. This is a permanent, Full time position.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate leadership in health & safety. Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities on site comply with national & Kerry Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards and legal requirements.
* Lead a high performing engineering team through effective leadership, coaching, people management, development and succession plans.
* Responsible for all engineering activities and CAPEX projects at the site including capital planning, identifying projects, process optimization, energy management.
* Accountable for ensuring that an effective & comprehensive preventative maintenance programme is in place which can be delivered within agreed timescales and budget.
* Monitor engineering & maintenance performance against defined KPI’s and look for improvement opportunities using Lean and CI tools and techniques.
* Manage the engineering and maintenance budget, negotiate vendor contracts.
* Establish spare parts holding guidance/policy to ensure spares are available at short notice to support 24/7 production.
* Utilize KAMS (Kerry Asset Maintenance System) process and tools.
* Maintain a broad knowledge of industry trends and new technology innovation in Maintenance and Reliability to enhance Kerry manufacturing and operational capabilities.
Qualifications
* Relevant Engineering Qualification.
* Significant experience in a similar Engineering & Maintenance Management/Leadership position.
* Manufacturing industry experience is essential; experience of Spray drying, food automation and process control technology is highly desirable.
* Varied engineering experience including maintenance, managing capex projects, process control & automation, energy management, wastewater etc.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships within the team and with other functions.
* Sound problem solving skills combined with experience of process improvement and CI/Lean tools.
* Strong computer skills including MS Office, SAP.
* Strong knowledge of Health, safety and environmental regulation.
