We are looking for an enthusiastic and well‑organised Specialty Administrator Assistant to join our Urology team at Yeovil District Hospital. This key role supports the smooth running of our clinical services by providing high‑quality administrative and typing support. It is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to work flexibly in a busy, fast‑paced environment. You'll be a valued member of the team, helping us deliver safe, timely and effective patient care. Responsibilities
Deal with day‑to‑day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner. Receive telephone calls, accept messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary. Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and coordinate patient information so it is accessible in a timely manner. Type all forms of clinical correspondence as dictated by clinical staff, by use of audio or copy typing. Produce copies for appropriate agencies, file copies in correct sequence, ensuring follow‑up arrangements are in place, liaise with the hospital database system. Process urgent referrals and arrange appropriate outpatient appointments. Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.
