About the Role
As a Yard Shunter, you will:
* Conduct the shunting, loading, and unloading of various trailers within the depot, ensuring all units are correctly positioned in their designated delivery bays.
* Support general yard operations as required to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised site.
* Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety inspections using the company-issued mobile device to ensure full compliance and optimal performance.
* Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely progress updates to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
* Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.
* Shunter training will be provided to company standards to ensure full competency and safety.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Full UK car driving licence.
* Forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.
* Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Confident, polite, and a team player.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
