We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated lead nurse to join and lead the heart failure and cardio-oncology nursing services guided by a team of supportive consultant cardiologists. This role offers the opportunity to combine autonomous clinical practice with leadership and service innovation. You will be able to demonstrate clinical excellence and knowledge in heart failure and have experience of leading and managing teams. It provides an opportunity to shape the future of specialist cardiac care at UCLH for patients living with complex cardiovascular conditions, including those affected by cancer treatments.
Main duties of the job
As the lead nurse, you will be involved in the strategic and operational development of heart failure and cardio-oncology pathways, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across acute, community and tertiary care settings. You will provide professional leadership and operational management for a small team of specialist nurses, ensuring effective supervision, appraisal, and continuous professional development. The postholder will foster a positive and inclusive team culture, encouraging excellence in clinical practice. You will also contribute to workforce planning and service development, ensuring safe and effective staffing and supporting colleagues to deliver excellent patient-centred care.
