Job overview

Our friendly admin hub in One Life, Middlesbrough, has a vacancy for a full time clerical officer to join the team of staff who provide administrative support to the podiatry and orthotics services.

The post holder will rotate through a number of stations within the hub ensuring a varied job.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include, (but are not limited to) manning of the patient telephone lines for both services, booking, cancelling and rearranging patient appointments.

Unpacking deliveries of orthoses from our external orthotics companies and storing the goods as per clinical instructions, picking and packing orthotics for clinical distribution.

To undertake general clerical duties, assist in the provision of an efficient, user friendly appointment booking service and provide clerical, administrative and information technology support to the orthotics and podiatry services and the wider One Life admin hub.

To assist in the management of clinical waiting lists and clinics, recording information and making appointments

To undertake reception duties, including greeting of patients processing orthoses for patients for repair booking face to face appointments

To utilise orthotics ordering system to track orthotics, to unpack delivery crates and prepare goods for distribution to clinics

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria

1. GCSEs A-C (Maths & English) or equivalent qualification or experience
2. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Experience

3. Relevant recent secretaries / administration / reception experience.
4. Experience of using Microsoft Office & Outlook including word, excel, PowerPoint, email and internet

Desirable criteria

5. Experience of using an electronic appointment system

Knowledge & Skills

6. Good understanding of relevant secretarial/clerical processes
7. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
