This inclusive SEND school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Role: Children’s Support Worker – SEN School Based
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, manage their needs, and develop confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities
5. Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures
6. Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs
7. Support pupils with additional needs, including autism, SEMH, and learning difficulties
8. Assist with behaviour management using positive and consistent strategies
9. Help pupils regulate emotions and develop social skills
10. Adapt learning activities to support engagement and understanding
11. Support with personal care where required
12. Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing
Essential Criteria (Non-Negotiables)
13. Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
14. Understanding of SEN, including autism and/or SEMH needs
15. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
16. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team
17. Comfortable supporting personal care if required
18. A compassionate, flexible, and proactive attitude
