We are recruiting a Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours (7.24 Monday – Friday). Contract type: Permanent, Full Time. Location: Various Locations across the Borough. Team: Children's Services.
Overview
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization. We pay an attractive salary of £39,152 – £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This post attracts a Market Supplement of £3,551 per annum, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.
Responsibilities
* Provide support across the organization.
* Undertake high‑quality assessments and care management of children and their families who have been assessed as requiring ongoing social services intervention.
* Manage both short‑ and long‑term work, including Children in Need of Care and Support, Children Looked After, Child Protection and court work.
* Work within the dynamic Children’s Services Locality Teams across various geographies.
Qualifications
* Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
* Social Workers qualifying after 1 April 2016 are required to complete the Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first three years of practice.
* Excellent communication skills with children, young people, their families/carers and professionals.
* Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough.
* Qualified social worker or due to qualify this year.
* Third‑year social work students are welcomed.
* Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity of starting as an unqualified support worker; upon qualification, they will then be appointed as social workers.
