Are you a recent graduate with 1–2 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, looking to build a hands-on field service career?
Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision electro-mechanical equipment used in production environments, is looking for a Trainee Field Service Engineer to join their growing team.
Working with both electrical and mechanical systems, this role combines hands-on technical expertise with customer-facing responsibility, requiring you to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults efficiently, commission new equipment on site and provide training to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Traveling across the UK to install, service and repair machinery at customer sites. (60% field based and 40% site).
* Responding to urgent breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults.
* Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing activities.
* Installing new equipment and commissioning machines on customer sites.
* Delivering face-to-face training to customers on safe operation and basic maintenance procedures.
* Supporting the manufacturing team with electrical wiring, control panel assembly and machine testing.
Who They’re Looking For:
* Experience as an Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Field Service Engineer.
* Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Experience with control systems and basic C++ programming, or willingness to develop this skill.
* Knowledge of wiring, control panels and machine assembly.
* Problem-solving ability with a proactive, independent mindset.
* Strong communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Self-motivated approach with flexibility for travel.
