Secondary PRU Teaching Assistant – Sunderland
Pay: £89 to £110 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term
If you’re the sort of person who earns respect through consistency rather than pressure, this secondary PRU role will be right up your street.
You’ll be part of a specialist team supporting young people who may have faced exclusions, anxiety, low confidence or disrupted schooling. Relationships always come before curriculum.
Your responsibilities:
• Supporting KS3/KS4 pupils with personalised learning
• Using de-escalation and trauma-informed strategies
• Encouraging positive behaviour through relational practice
• Helping pupils build confidence and resilience
• Working with teachers, mentors and wellbeing staff
We’d love to hear from people who:
• Have SEMH, youth work or behaviour support experience
• Are consistent, firm, kind and emotionally intelligent
• Don’t get rattled by challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
