Role Overview
A multi‑skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. The role is primarily electrically biased (60%) with mechanical responsibilities (40%), ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical (60%)
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and packaging machinery
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems
* Work with control panels, sensors, drives, and PLC systems
* Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring electrical issues
* Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations
Mechanical (40%)
* Perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, motors, belts, and gearboxes
* Assist with breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime
* Carry out routine inspections and equipment servicing
* Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
Skills & Experience Required
* Electrically biased engineer with strong fault‑finding ability
* Experience within manufacturing (food/FMCG preferred)
* Knowledge of PLC systems and automated machinery
* Good understanding of mechanical systems and components
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
