Trainee Service Technician / Trainee Workshop Engineer / Trainee Pump Engineer
We are looking for a trainee to learn electrical and mechanical repair, service, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial pump systems, primarily in a workshop setting with occasional field visits to customer sites in South England. Full product training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Learn to provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and commissioning of industrial pumps and associated equipment, predominantly in the workshop, with occasional fieldwork at customer sites across London, Surrey, Hampshire & Somerset.
* Assist in planned and preventive maintenance, and gain experience in diagnostics and fault finding on industrial pump systems across various industries.
* Support pump installations, fault‑finding, and performance monitoring of equipment.
* Assist with installing pump products into various manufacturing industries.
* Learn to maintain, repair, service, and install pump equipment in the workshop based in Somerset.
* Liaise with various engineering departments as needed.
Requirements
* Some basic mechanical or hands‑on service experience.
* Willingness to work on wastewater/sewage pumps is essential.
* A keen interest in learning mechanical service on pumps, rotating equipment, filtration, hydraulics, valves, wastewater products, or similar mechanically focused equipment.
* Willingness to learn to read engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and operation manuals.
* Interest in developing knowledge of three‑phase electrics is advantageous.
* Willingness to work in the workshop in Yeovil with occasional field visits.
* An engineering qualification and/or mechanical engineering apprenticeship would be advantageous, but not essential.
Package
* Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 depending on experience.
* Overtime allowance.
