This is an initial fixed‑term opportunity (FTC) of 2‑3 months, ideally starting within the next few weeks. We welcome applications from candidates seeking full‑time, part‑time or flexible arrangements. We operate from beautiful head offices overlooking the river Ouse in Lewes, East Sussex.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Copywriter to join Ancient + Brave and bring sharp, purposeful writing to everything we make – from brand campaigns to paid social ads.

This is a dual‑remitting role for a writer who can operate across the full creative spectrum: crafting campaign narratives and brand storytelling at one end, and writing high‑converting performance copy at the other. You understand that the best copy does both – it sounds like us and it drives results. Working closely with the Brand, Creative and Performance Marketing teams, you will be a central voice across Ancient + Brave's creative output, ensuring everything we write – whether it’s a campaign line or a TikTok hook – is distinctive, on‑brand and built to connect.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Campaign Copywriting

• Write compelling copy across brand and seasonal campaigns, from campaign headlines and narratives to long‑form content and editorial.
• Develop copy territories and messaging frameworks that anchor campaigns and can be adapted across channels.
• Collaborate closely with the Brand and Campaign teams to bring creative concepts to life through language.
• Write copy for NPD launches, brand moments and key seasonal activity – ensuring consistency of voice across all touchpoints.

Performance Copywriting

• Write high‑impact copy for paid social ads across Meta and TikTok – hooks, headlines, body copy and CTAs.
• Produce copy variations at volume to support creative testing and iteration.
• Write conversion‑focused copy for email campaigns, landing pages and PDPs.
• Adapt tone, format and message for different audiences, channels and funnel stages.

Tone of Voice & Brand Writing

• Be a guardian of Ancient + Brave's tone of voice across all written output.
• Translate complex product benefits, ingredients and brand values into copy that feels human, credible and compelling.
• Support the development and evolution of tone of voice guidelines as the brand grows.
• Brief and review copy from external agencies, freelancers and AI‑assisted tools to ensure quality and consistency.

Testing & Optimisation

• Work with the Performance Marketing team to contribute to a structured copy testing programme.
• Review performance data to understand what copy is working and iterate accordingly.
• Stay across platform trends and emerging best practices in both campaign and performance copywriting.
• Comfortable using AI tools to support copy production and ideation at scale.

WHO YOU ARE

• Portfolio demonstrating range – from campaign narratives and long‑form content to short‑form ads and CTAs.
• Proven copywriting experience across both brand campaigns and performance marketing channels.
• Strong understanding of what makes copy perform on Meta and TikTok.
• Experience writing within a brand with a defined tone of voice, ideally in D2C, wellness, beauty or lifestyle.
• Comfortable working with performance data to inform and improve copy.
• Ability to write quickly, at volume, without sacrificing craft or brand integrity.
• Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with brand, creative and performance teams.
• A genuine love of language – and an equal obsession with what it achieves.
• Comfortable switching between brand storytelling and direct response in the same day.
• Fast, organised and calm under competing deadlines.
• Collaborative, open to feedback and happy to iterate.
• Curious about consumer behaviour, culture and what makes people connect with a brand.
• Excited by purpose‑led businesses and the wellness space.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑growing scale‑up where things move quickly.
• Available at short notice and open to a part‑time or flexible arrangement.
