Young Person Support WorkerChichesterAre you passionate about making a real difference in a young person’s life? We are looking for dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join our team supporting young people aged 16–18, including care leavers, who may come from challenging and traumatic backgrounds such as family breakdown, abuse, substance misuse, and exploitation.About the RoleAs a Young Person Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day support to help young people develop independence, confidence, and life skills. This is a rewarding but challenging role where your ability to build trust, remain calm under pressure, and offer consistent support is key.Key Responsibilities
Provide general emotional and practical support to young peopleBuild positive, trusting relationshipsSupport individuals displaying challenging behaviours with confidence and professionalismUse verbal de-escalation techniques effectivelyMaintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding standardsWork collaboratively with the wider team and external professionals

Confident individuals with experience or interest in supporting young peopleStrong understanding of safeguarding, recording, and reporting proceduresEmpathetic, patient, and non-judgemental approachAbility to manage and respond to challenging behavioursA genuine desire to make a positive impact
