Principal Structural Engineer
£60k-£85k
Location: Croydon
Are you an experienced structural designer able to take responsibility for complex schemes?
Do you have a passion for the specialist power industry?
This small, well-established Croydon‑based specialist design consultancy is part of a large utilities contractor group. The firm specialises in structural design for projects in the power industry, often highly technical and involving clients such as UKPN and SSE.
* Handle whole projects autonomously and act as a technical lead.
* Provide complex design solutions for substation design, battery storage facilities, blast‑resistant buildings, switch houses, GIS buildings, transformer cell buildings, and specialist steelwork structures.
* Design in steel, concrete, masonry and collaborate on refurbishment and new builds ranging from small to multi‑million £ schemes.
* Travel to sites in London and the South East; a pool car is provided.
* Work on a 36‑hour week with a 9‑day working fortnight, 23 days holiday plus a 9‑day fortnight scheme, and a generous bonus scheme.

Experience in the power sector is highly advantageous. A Chartered status is preferred. Candidate must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
