About us: Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. We currently have a turnover of over £50 million making us a major employer in the region with approximately 1,000 staff. The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gower College Swansea for two dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our teams on a part-time, fixed-term basis, supporting students in their academic journey. There are three positions available. Please state in your Personal Statement which vacancy/vacancies you are interested in. Interview date: Wednesday August 13th Vacancy A - Maternity cover Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days) Term-time (36 weeks per annum) Fixed term until 30th January 2026 Based on 25 hours per week, the salary would be £13,329 - £13,613 per annum Tycoch Campus Vacancy B Part-time (30 hours per week across 5 days) Term-time (36 weeks per annum) Fixed term until 31st August 2026 £15,994 - £16,335 per annum Jubilee Court Campus (Fforestfach) Vacancy C Part-time (25 - 30 hours per week across 4 days) Term-time (36 weeks per annum) Fixed term until 31st August 2026 Based on 25 hours per week, the salary would be £13,329 - £13,613 per annum Gorseinon Campus Key Responsibilities: To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting. To assist with the development of learners’ literacy and numeracy skills. To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary. To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction. To assist with the co-ordination of learners’ work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
