Ivy Rock Partners is supporting a public sector organisation to appoint an Interim Finance Officer to strengthen their finance function during a busy operational period on an initial 3 month contract. This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable, requiring a bright, numerate individual who is comfortable working with high volumes of financial data and proactively resolving queries across the organisation. The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial processing, with particular responsibility for: Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently Matching and coding invoices in line with financial controls Chasing internal budget holders for approvals and resolving outstanding queries Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies Supporting payment runs and ensuring adherence to payment terms Maintaining accurate records within the finance system Assisting with ad hoc finance administration and reporting as required This role requires someone who is organised, detail-oriented and confident communicating with colleagues across the organisation to ensure processes move forward efficiently. About You We are looking for a candidate who is: Bright, analytical and comfortable working with numbers Highly organised with strong attention to detail Proactive and confident in following up with stakeholders Experienced in accounts payable or transactional finance Comfortable working in a fast-paced public sector environment Confident using finance systems and Excel Part-qualified AAT or equivalent experience is advantageous but not essential.
