We are looking for a motivated and reliable Engineering Operative to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced fabricators/welders and entry-level candidates who are keen to learn and develop new skills within a manufacturing environment.

The role involves supporting the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of a variety of metal products. For experienced candidates, this offers the chance to showcase existing skills, while less experienced applicants will receive training and development to progress within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Carry out MIG welding (training can be provided; TIG welding advantageous)
  • Assist with fabrication and general workshop duties
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Work with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
  • Follow all health and safety procedures in line with UK regulations
  • Support installation work on‑site when required
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and project teams

Essential Requirements

  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Basic interest in engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Awareness of workplace health and safety
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Previous experience in fabrication, welding, or a similar engineering role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • MIG and/or TIG welding experience
  • Relevant qualifications in fabrication, welding, or engineering
  • CSCS card
  • Forklift licence
  • Experience with structural steelwork, architectural metalwork, or bespoke fabrication
  • Full UK driving licence

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Company pension scheme
  • Ongoing training and development with progression opportunities
  • PPE and workwear provided

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
  • Friday: 07:30 - 15:00 (early finish)

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team where you can develop your skills, gain hands‑on experience, and build a long‑term career in engineering.
