Description
Background and Purpose of the Role:
Summary of why the role exists and its position within the organisational structure.
To ensure supplier invoices and payments are processed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
To take ownership and maintain accurate supplier accounts, resolving account issues to minimise operational impact.
Working within a purchase ledger team to ensure accurate management across all ledgers, particularly the Earthworks Division.
Impact And Key Deliverables:
* Processing purchase invoices in the accounting system.
* Ensuring 3-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipt notes, and purchase invoices.
* Pro-actively resolving invoice variances with suppliers and operations.
* Raising BACS runs on a timely basis.
* Reconciling supplier statements promptly.
* Ensuring compliance with CIS and VAT regulations.
* Manually coding invoices and ensuring all invoices are duly authorised.
* Performing regular housekeeping checks to keep ledgers tidy.
* Creating and maintaining supplier account data.
* Dealing with and resolving supplier queries.
* Addressing site queries and requests.
* Responding to auditor requests.
* Meeting deadlines in accordance with month-end closedown timetable.
* Raising ad hoc individual payment requests as needed.
* Contributing to the efficiency of the Finance Department by assisting in process improvements.
* Performing other duties as requested by your Line Manager.
Knowledge And Skills Required:
Relevant qualifications and experience the ideal candidate will require.
Essential:
* An aptitude for IT.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics as a minimum requirement.
