The Land and Mineral Resources Department (LMR) comprises a multi disciplinary team responsible for managing property and mineral resources across all UK business divisions. Areas of responsibility include the procurement of land and mineral reserves and resources with the necessary permits to operate the UK businesses in a cost-effective manner. Specialist disciplines include land management, planning, restoration and aftercare, mineral resource identification and assessment, quarry and tip design, and geotechnical issues.
The Principal Landscape Architect is responsible for:
Co-ordinating the provision of landscape architecture services within a designated geographic area
Liaison with operational management on all landscape issues
Production / input into, extraction schemes in association with geologists and engineering geologists
The design cost effective restoration and aftercare proposals
The maintenance up to date cost estimates of implementing restoration schemes
Provision of advise on the implementation of restoration proposals including contract specification
Providing advice on aftercare
Input into development proposals including planning applications and EIA
Provision of advice on ecological and other habitat matters
Obtaining permits / authorisations etc to manage or translocation of protected species and habitats
The instruction and management of external consultants
The management and the preparation of restoration / biodiversity award submissions
The maintenance and implementation of agreed systems and reporting to Group.
