You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and hands-on lessons that inspire innovation and technical confidence.
Students will study areas such as product design, resistant materials, engineering principles, graphics, and CAD/CAM while developing practical making skills and design-thinking approaches.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level/Level 3 DT qualifications, supporting high-quality coursework and strong academic outcomes.
You will work collaboratively within a successful department committed to maintaining outstanding standards of teaching and learning.
Teach Design & Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based DT lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level/Level 3 DT qualifications
Support coursework and practical project development
Maintain safe workshop environments and procedures
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM and design enrichment opportunities

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in DT specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering
Strong classroom and workshop management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level or Level 3 DT
Experience working in an outstanding or high-achieving school
Ability to contribute to STEM or extracurricular activities
Experience using CAD/CAM or modern workshop technologies
