6 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To carry out general building and domestic electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, and fault-finding works across residential properties. The post holder will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current industry regulations and contract standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake general building and domestic electrical maintenance works.
* Carry out inspection, fault finding, testing, and remedial works within domestic properties.
* Complete rewiring projects and electrical installation works as required.
* Perform electrical testing and certification in line with current regulations.
* Ensure all electrical works comply with NICEIC standards and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Wiring Regulations – BS 7671: 18th Edition (including amendments).
* Adhere to relevant health and safety legislation and company policies at all times.
* Identify and report potential hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues.
* Ensure all works meet required contractual and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate documentation and certification for completed works.
* Liaise professionally with tenants, clients, and colleagues while working in occupied properties.
Requirements
* Proven experience in general building and domestic electrical maintenance.
* Previous experience in inspection, fault finding, and testing of domestic installations.
* Working knowledge of NICEIC requirements and BS 7671 (18th Edition, including amendments).
* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to electrical works.
* Ability to identify and highlight potential safety hazards.
* Experience working in social housing or tenanted properties.
* City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
* 2391 (Inspection and Testing) or equivalent qualification.
