Overview
We are seeking a professional and friendly Receptionist to join our established team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Greet patients in a warm and professional manner
* Answer and direct phone calls with excellent phone etiquette
* Manage incoming correspondence, including emails and postal mail
* Review prescription requests and process
* Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
* Maintain an organised reception area and office environment
* Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars
* Handle clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth office operations
This is not an exhaustive list, a GP Practice is a very busy, demanding environment, the receptionists role is varied and multi-disciplinary.
Qualifications
* Office experience is essential; administrative experience is highly desirable
* Proficient computer skills, including typing speed and accuracy
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Experience with Systmone (Clinical System) an advantage
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and documentation
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Part time hours / shift patterns are issued based on position availability within the practice, these will be discussed at interview. Flexibility is required for any post, overtime may be requested at short notice to cover colleague sickness, but will also be planned in advanced for holiday cover giving 4 weeks notice where possible.
The practice operates extended access clinics, on a rota basis or for cover staff could be asked to be available on a Tuesday morning from 6:45am and / or a Wednesday evening until 8:00pm, currently, there are staff assigned to these times.
