Overview

The Education Training Collective (Etc.) is a dynamic group of colleges and training providers, including Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training Group and Innersummit. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Lecturer in Art and Design to join the Creative team, reporting to the Curriculum Manager for Creative and Digital, Tom Guest. The Creative team at SRC offers Level 1 to Level 3 Art and Design programmes. The post holder will undertake a teaching qualification while delivering art and design to a range of learners.


Responsibilities

* Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment to learners from Level 1 to Level 3 in Art and Design.
* Support students’ academic progress and personal development, preparing them for progression into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of creative, industry-relevant projects.
* Provide formative and summative assessment with timely and constructive feedback in line with awarding body requirements.
* Undertake and successfully complete an approved teaching qualification during the role.
* Participate in classroom observation, peer review and reflective practice as part of the Taking Teaching Forward (TTF) development pathway.
* Maintain awareness of curriculum frameworks in FE at Levels 1 to 3 and familiarity with digital design tools, contemporary creative practice, or emerging industry trends.


Qualifications and Skills

* Degree (or equivalent) in Art, Design or a closely related subject.
* Some practical experience in a creative or design-related field.
* Ability to teach in FE and a willingness to undertake a teaching qualification and ongoing professional development.
* Strong subject knowledge in art and design with the ability to inspire learners through practical and theoretical approaches.
* Good organisational skills, including time management and meeting deadlines.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate a diverse group of learners.
* Ability to reflect on practice and adapt teaching strategies; competence in using IT for learning, assessment and administration.
