Job Overview
Due to career progression an opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist with an interest in antimicrobial stewardship to join the antimicrobial stewardship team.
We are looking for an individual with motivation and enthusiasm to deliver the antimicrobial stewardship agenda in conjunction with the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist. You will work closely with the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist to support antimicrobial management across the Trust and develop specialist antimicrobial skills while building upon proven clinical skills.
It is ideal for a pharmacist who is looking to gain experience working at a senior level.
Responsibilities
The role will require you to apply your knowledge, skills and experience to improve patient care through effective use of antimicrobial agents and other infection control interventions.
You will work closely with the Consultant Microbiologists and Control of Infection team to promote clinical and cost-effective prescribing through evidence‑based guidelines.
You will support the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist with the development and implementation of antimicrobial audits or other antimicrobial stewardship focused projects.
There will be opportunities to work with other specialist teams such as the Community Intravenous Therapy team and support multidisciplinary work relating to antimicrobials use.
You will also work within an identified specialist area providing clinical pharmacy services and other pharmacist duties as required by the department.
